I have a really good question that would help me and other newer ferret owners.
What do you have in your "ferret kit" - in other words, what are the things a ferret owner shouldn't be without. What toys, supplements, first aid supplies and other things should everybody have on hand when they are owned by ferrets?

I'm going to let my wife field this one... since she does the packing for road trips, and tells me what we need to replace and when. I do know we need more Nature's Miracle cleaner right now, and new clear poly flex tubing...

If you’re packing for a “road trip” I always make sure to have the following with us at all times:
Medical Records: This is a must, just incase one of our babies gets out of line and takes a nip at someone. Nice to have records of Rabies shots at hand.
Baby Wipes: Need I say what for? LOL
Water: When traveling to other states water is different out of the tap, which could cause yucky butt, and we don’t like yucky butt! I either purchase bottled water or bottle some of our good ol’ tap water from home.
Food: We normally buy two 7lbs bags per week, so it’s really important to watch how much your kids eat to make sure you pack enough food for your trip. I also bring a small (small enough to put in my purse) tupperware container to put food in while we are out and about… makes it easy to carry extra food and keep it fresh at the same time.
Treats: Hard treats.
Newspaper: Just enough to make it to where we are going. When we get there we can use the paper that the hotel delivers each day. (simple way to not have to pack litter)
Toys: Our kids actually have a “toy box”… really, not kidding you, so I reach in and get the light weight toys for them. I know what toys everyone likes the most, so I make sure I take those. The more they feel at home, the less stressed they are. Because we are in CA our kids don’t get to go outside and rub on the grass etc., so we don’t really have to bring many toys for them… just being outside is a treat to them.
Leashes and Harness: Go figure; try walking 8 at one time.. LOL – it’s pretty tricky! I also have had name tags made for each of our little ones with their name and my cell phone number.
Hope this helps...

That list is great, Hedgemom! I'll have to bookmark it for future road trips. Good tip to have their names and phone numbers on them.
LoL Oh yeah, I know what the baby wipes are for. I buy them by the case at Costco!
Here's an incomplete list for what you need overall for proper ferret care:
The Personal Hygiene Kit:
Sharp nail clippers
Soft Brush
Ferret Shampoo
Ear cleaner solution
Q-tips for cleaning outter ears
Steptic Powder or pencil, to clot blood should you cut the nails too short (to be used in conjunction with plenty of hugs and kisses)
General Living:
A good cage with plenty of room for comfy beds and hammocks and, of course, litter boxes.
Litter boxes and/or newspapers to pepper the house with.
Good quality ferret diet
Dust free litter, such as "yesterday's news" or wood pellets
Comfy harness and leash.
Medicine/Supplement Cabinet:
Ferretone
Ferret hairball remedy
Recipe for Duk Soup
Phone number for ferret vet
Toys:
4" Tubes !!!
Cleaning Supplies:
Nature's Miracle !!!
OK, that's as far as I've gotten, I know this list is about 1/3 complete. I thought it would be a good idea to make a complete list, then stick the list to the top of the thread.
Please keep on brainstorming and posting!!
