Thank you so much for your efforts. I think it's important for our governor to see that people in the other states are watching what he does too. I do know that he does not read his emails...he has clerks who take care of that. I did get a response from one of them (a clerk)...once! There is a better likelihood that the governor will see letters when they are snail-mailed to him...so keep on writing!!!

Thank you all so much for your support. Please remember that we really need donations also to fund the things we absolutely have to do to get and keep the legalization ball rolling. I believe KD already mentioned that your donations to LegalizeFerrets.org are much needed and greatly appreciated. Tell your friends!!!

Just curious.. I read where it say's the emails need a name and address so he could contact us back. Wouldn't this be a bad idea to California residents because we could be tracked down by Fish and Games if he gave them are address's or even names? Or would the snail mail letters just don't have a return address,? I dunno it just said he needs a name and address.

We've talked about this before...Lets go ahead and assume that all names and addresses of people that write to Arnie about ferret legalization are forwarded to DFG. What will DFG do with the informaton? Quite frankly, what can they do? As long as you did not say anything about OWNING a ferret...what can they do? NOTHING. You are writing to protest the illegal status of ferrets...which is your constitutional right, "...to petition the government for redress of grievances" (1st amendment). Furthermore, DFG does not have the budget or the ambition to put surveillance on every single person that writes the governor about ferret legalization just to see if they can catch that person with a ferret. It is paranoid to think this will happen. People who have been caught with their ferrets have never been caught this way. It is usually because someone who knew them got pissed off and reported them OR because the police had a lawful reason to be inside their home and happened to see the ferret as a consequence (example: someone in your home creates a disturbance, the cops come to settle it, and see the ferret).
Remember, being cautious is smart...being paranoid is silly.

Arnie is a politician and politicians want to make sure the people who are complaining are voters of the state. Voters are the only people that a governor would even have a remote interest in listening to.
