I live in western WI, near MN and IA. I do occasional rescue from my home, and I have a couple of special needs ferrets for adoption. They do not need to go together.

Esmerelda is a petite dark sable female, approximately 2-3 yrs. old. She was very shy when I first met her but with patience and love she is doing well. She can be a little nippy so she needs an experienced owner. Her nipping is not severe and she has improved much since she came here a few weeks ago. She likes other ferrets and should have at least one ferret buddy in her new home. She loves the rice box and has excellent litterbox habits.

Kendrick is a big boy, close to 3 yrs. old. His color is somewhere between sable and silver, kind of a muddy color, and he has a white blotchy bib and knee patches. He is a very independent, couch-potato type guy who likes other ferrets. He also needs an experienced owner because he likes to bite arms and occasionally nips at ankles. He does not bite hands or faces and occasionally will give kisses. His biting is predictable and easily preventable if you know to watch him around bare arms. He got a melatonin implant this June after a funky shed, and his hair coat has grown back just fine. His new owner needs to be aware of potential adrenal problems. He has been living with other ferrets and should have another ferret buddy in his new home.

Please email me at rescue@ferretz.org for an adoption application or if you have questions. I can email photos also.

***edited 11/14/06***Kendrick will be going to his new home this weekend. :) Unfortunately, little Ezzy became ill and was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. However, she is bouncing back so far with prednisone and she will stay here for the remainder of her days.
