skunks are cute, but i believe they are illegal to own here in virginia, since they are a native wild animal. same with raccoons and possums.

Here are a few of me and my main man Scooter. Taken about five minutes ago because I realized reading this thread that I don't have any of me and him. Actually I don't have pictures of me and most of my ferrets. But he is my #1 best boy ever, so it is really important to have pictures of me with him.

I REALLY like the first one of me, but I was petting him and messed up the picture that way. Boo bad ferret (totally his fault for being too cute not to pet!). I'm not at my best either, hard day at work and I haven't been getting enough sleep lately.

I used to work at a zoo for 10 years. After getting married and buying a house and having a child etc...the pay just did not cut it anymore. I had to leave. I could go to the Toronto Zoo but, it is super hard to get into and I am quite comfortable where I am. Great pay, weekends and holidays off for my son. I still work at the zoo on occasion when they need me. And I do hang out there quite a bit and bring animals home if they need for night feedings. I still get to do all the fun stuff. That place has made a lot of my dreams come true and I will always be a part of it! But, People always ask ...why "zoogal" ? Is it because you have a lot of animlas?" Nope...i am literally a ZOOgal! LOL!!!!

The first picture is on an offsite. We do a lot of educational programs to teach about Endangered Species and basically animals in general.

The second is one of my engagement pictures with my ex husband (hence the big hand on my lap, which is what was left after I cropped him...LOL!) They were done in field/woods behind the zoo. We also had ones with the elephant.

And the last was at a freinds house. I had brought her home for the weekend (which is what we do with all the babies that have to be bottle fed and socialized) We had plans with friends that weekend so I took her over. She was a rescue. She was someone's "pet"...DUMBA**. She was malnurished and her growth was stunted because of it. The lion cubs at the top and the tiger cub are the same age, BIG difference in size and they should be relativly the same) A lot of the animals at the zoo are rescue and donated.

you're very lucky. i applied to the keeper training course at the los angeles zoo when i lived in california, but i wasn't allowed to complete the course because my coordination was too poor and i worked too slowly.

i did work in a wildlife rehab place in northern california for awhile as part of an internship at uc santa cruz. the people who ran it couldn't find better help, so they were glad to take me. they also got rent from me by letting me live in a small trailer on their property.

i really enjoyed that, but they were constantly getting into trouble with fish and game! i stayed out of that.

I hear ya. Even volunteering is the best thing to do! Anything to work with these amazing creatures! It is amazing the amount of co-op students we would get that thougt they got to play ALLLLLLL day with the Animals!!! HAHAHAHA! That was a treat to do that on a daily basis! It was really busy cause as you all know, animals poop and they poop A LOT! LOL! And Big poops too! But, we asked those students to leave. If one was really slow but, did his/her job well they stayed and have actually become a lot of summer staff.

Defiantly a dream job for me too. Problem is when I finally figured out what I wanted to do when I grew up my body is just getting too run down to do a lot of the physical work involved in taking care of these beautiful animals and my pocket book couldn't afford it either. There was a college I looked into in So Cal in the valley area. I would of loved to go to school there. But looking into it they said that due to your school schedule you really can't work and go to school at the same time. Well that kinda smashed my dream right there :no:

My boyfriend and I saw him in concert two years ago. Even if you're not a fan of his music, seeing his show is a must! Everything ran like clockwork. I really enjoyed it.

I think "Disposable Teens" is my favorite by him.
